Simon Cowell vows to work with Cheryl again – but NOT on The X Factor

Simon Cowell has vowed to work with Cheryl again, but it won’t be on ITV’s The X Factor.

The former Girls Aloud star quit the show’s judging panel last year, and has since started a family with her boyfriend Liam Payne.

Although Cheryl is now “living in a love bubble”, Simon is determined to lure the new mum back to TV screens very soon.

“I have one or two ideas in mind. Once she’s settled she’s going to want to be working again and I enjoy working with Cheryl —she is good,” Simon told The Sun.

“We still have a really good relationship and I think at some point we’ll probably end up working together again soon.”

Despite Simon being keen to work with the 33-year-old again, he insisted that it wouldn’t be on either of his shows, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

“I don’t think for the moment we’d want to make any changes. It worked on X Factor last year and the Britain’s Got Talent panel works really well.

“There’s always room to come up with new ideas for shows but you’ve got to look at the whole landscape. It’s a crowded market but there’s always room for something new if it’s a good idea.”

Rocky: Cheryl and Simon’s relationship suffered after he sacked her from The X Factor USA – but the pair have since made amends | INSTAGRAM

The 57-year-old and Cheryl have had a notoriously rocky relationship over the years, as the music mogul sacked her from The X Factor USA in 2011, after just three weeks of filming the show.

Cheryl was understandably humiliated after the indecent, and ended up suing the show’s production company. The brunette then ended up winning an undisclosed sum in an out-of-court settlement.

Cheryl and Simon didn’t speak for a long time, but he soon managed to woo her back to The X Factor in the UK to help boost ratings in 2014 and 2015.

Now, Cheryl and Simon will have a lot more in common as they are now both parents. Cheryl welcomed her baby boy just three weeks ago on March 22, while Simon’s son Eric turned three in February.

Not only has Eric inherited his dad’s dark hair, but he’s also inherited his eye for talent as the toddler is set to join the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel this year.

“I watch him watching the show and the things he likes normally are the things I like. They take on your mannerisms and everything else. He is absolutely incredible and so funny.

Mr Nasty No More: Fatherhood has changed Simon for the better | TWITTER

“He can listen to a record once or twice and he remembers all the words. He knows who the artist is. It’s really astonishing,” he gushed.

Fatherhood has made Simon become far more concerned about security, especially since their house was broken into in December 2015.

While Simon, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric slept, a serial burgler broke in to their five-bedroom home in Holland Park, West London, and stole jewellery worth £1million.

When asked if he’s beefed up security since, Simon said, “You have to, after the stuff that’s happened at my home.

“At the same time you don’t want to become a recluse. It’s just being more sensible about it. Some of the stuff that you think couldn’t happen, may happen,” he added.
