Stranger Things 2 is set to return this summer and will reveal Eleven’s backstory.
Co-creator Matt Duffer explained that they plan on unravelling the mystery around the young girl’s past.
“I want people to know that she’s back and she’s a major part of the season and not know how or why,” he said.

Matt admitted that fans will get to see Eleven’s backstory – but it will be an emotional transition.
“We do get into her story and backstory,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
“We learn about where she came from and how she came into the world and the program that resulted in her.
“She has a storyline this season for her, and it’s an emotional transition.
“Last season I didn’t get to expand [on the character] – this season is giving me that opportunity.”
