WATCH: Orange Is the New Black releases INTENSE first look at season 5

We still have almost two months to wait until Orange Is the New Black returns.

But Netflix has just released the first minute of the season five premiere – and it’s kicking off with a bang.

The episode will begin directly after the events of season four, during a riot at the prison following the tragic death of Poussey (Samira Wiley).

It starts with Daya (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at prison guard Humphrey (Michael Torpey), as the other inmates egg her on and tell her to pull the trigger.

Meanwhile Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) are seen in the hallway, as Piper says they are “laying low and staying out of trouble”.

“S**t, is this a real riot?” she asks as they approach the crowd. “This is a real riot. If this a real riot, do you think this is a step forwards or backwards for equality?”

“I don’t care, and we’re getting out of hear now. Are you kidding me? Come on,” Alex replies, pulling Piper away from the shocking scene.

The clip then cuts back to Daya, who pleads with the women surrounding her to be quiet, and we then hear her swear before the clip cuts to black, ending ominously with a gunshot and the group gasping.

Orange Is the New Black returns to Netflix for its fifth season, which is set over just three days, on June 9th.
