WATCH: Dermot Bannon relives his most MEMORABLE moments from Room to Improve

Ireland’s most charismatic architect, Dermot Bannon, is back with a brand new series of Room to Improve on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

Now in its tenth series, there has been no shortage of drama, ever-tightening budgets, unexpected surprises and an architect gamely trying to convince his clients that he knows what’s best for them. So, ten series and one Late Late Toy Show appearance later, RTÉ Player met with Dermot to take a look back at his most memorable moments of the show to date.

Who can forget when Dermot redesigned a 1970’s semi-detached house in Malahide to suit the needs of 12-year-old wheelchair bound Michael.

In this clip, Dermot explains why working with Michael, Ann and Barry to create their perfect home will always be the nation’s favourite episode.

Another favourite is ‘the one with the concrete wall’, as jet-lagged long haul pilot, Ian, was pretty unconvinced about Dermot’s vision to build a massive concrete feature wall in an attempt to put a contemporary stamp on their 1930’s home in Drogheda.

In this clip, he discusses the design rationale for a concrete wall in Ian and Claire’s Drogheda home.

To watch Dermot look back at more of his most memorable Room To Improve moments, head over to the RTÉ Player here.

Watch Room To Improve on RTÉ One, Sundays at 9.35pm.
