David Beckham reportedly BLACKMAILED for £1million over hacked e-mails

Hackers reportedly tried to BLACKMAIL David Beckham for £1million over the explosive emails that were leaked over the weekend.

The footballer’s private emails were exposed on FootballLeaks, and they detailed that he launched into a foul-mouthed rage about being denied a knighthood.

Now, a source has said that the father-of-four’s advisors were told by hackers to “pay up” or they were going to release personal e-mails.

However, according to the source, David wasn’t the hackers initial target – but he supposedly got caught up in the crossfire.

“They approached by email and attempted to meet via another third party,” a source told The Mirror.

“They said we have all this information and you have to pay up. It was blackmail, pure and simple. The investigation has been going on behind the scenes for some time and involved several prominent companies.

“The hack wasn’t targeted at David at all – it was very much a fishing expedition but David has been caught in the crossfire.”

The hackers, writing under the name Artem Lovuzov, apparently told Doyen Sports CEO Nelio Lucas, “The leak is a lot bigger than you imagine.

“A generous donation, and you can be sure that all the information I possess will be destroyed.”

When asked what is a “generous donation,” they replied, “I think something between €500,000 and a million would be a good donation for this material, but I want to see your suggestion.”

Meanwhile, according to the publication, the hackers have since said that David’s advisors have not paid the reported £1million.

“Two days have passed already and my lawyer tells me that he has not been contacted by you or your lawyer.

“As I told you, I am a man of my word, and as well as stopping all publications I decided to delete all the documents from the site to prevent any kind of speculation.

“I’m giving you until 16.00 on Tuesday to contact my lawyer with a view to a proper resolution to this impasse,” the hackers added.

After the hackers’ attempt to extort money failed, the bombshell information was passed to the Football Leaks website. Meanwhile, Football Leaks have denied blackmailing Doyen Sports.

A friend of David’s told The Mirror that the Brit’s “vent” was “very much in the heat of the moment”.

“Some of the emails were doctored to make them sound worse . For instance he never said the word f******. It just would be an awful shame if this detracts from the amazing work he does with Unicef.

“David gave about 40 days to Unicef last year, went to 10 countries on field trips – you don’t do that for show.

“He has donated over £1.5million, raised millions in the last two years. He has led campaigns, done charity games at Old Trafford. And because of a couple of old emails, people are lambasting him for it.”

David, who’s Unicef 7 fund has raised over £4.3million since it launched in 2015, hasn’t made a public statement about the hacking.

However, a spokesman for the star said, “This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third-party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture.

“David Beckham and Unicef have had a powerful partnership in support of children for over 15 years.

“The David Beckham 7 Fund has raised millions of pounds and helped millions of vulnerable children around the world.

“He’s given significant time and energy and made personal financial donations to the 7 Fund and this commitment will continue long-term.

“Before establishing the 7 Fund, David had supported Unicef and a number of other charities over many years, including donating his entire earnings from PSG during his time playing there.

“David and Unicef are rightly proud of what they have and will continue to achieve together.”

Unicef also released a statement regarding David’s current situation and praised his work with them.

“As well as generously giving his time, energy and support to help raise awareness and funds for Unicef’s work for children, David has given significant funds personally,” a statement read.
