Cara de la Hoyde has confirmed that she is pregnant with ex-boyfriend Nathan Massey’s baby – just weeks after the couple split.
The Love Island and TOWIE stars had been together for almost a year and broke up just two weeks after Cara found out she was expecting their baby.
Speaking to OK! magazine Cara discussed how she did not realise she was pregnant until she underwent a procedure to remove pre-cancerous cells from her cervix.
Cara explained : “They have to check if you’re pregnant first, but I said to the doctor: ‘I don’t think there’s any need for that!’ They did it anyway and a nurse came back and said: ‘You’re pregnant!’
“I was with my mum and we just looked at each other in complete shock. I went in for one thing and came out expecting a baby.”
Cara says that while she and Nathan have no plans to reunite for the sake of their unborn child, they are still “good friends” and Nathan will support Cara every step of the way.
The brunette beauty added : “He’s going to be there for the baby and I’m making him aware of all the midwife appointments and scans, so he’s in the loop and so’s his mum.”
The Essex girl admitted that it’s a “sad situation” that the two first-time parents are no longer in a relationship, she commented: “I know a lot of people will think, well you’re going to have a baby together so just stay together – but we’re not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple.”
The baby is due in November and will be the first Love Island off-spring between two contestants who met on the show.
