Model Emma Waldron makes US television debut – as she supports plus size

Beauty queen Emma Waldron made her first appearance on American TV, to support plus-size models in the fashion industry.

The former Miss Ireland recently made the move to New York full time to pursue a full-time modelling career.

And now the Kildare beauty has appeared on MSNBC’s The Reid Report talking about model Ashley Graham, who is the first size 18 model to cover Sport’s Illustrated.

“Previously, the popular body type was very skinny, almost androgynous, which didn’t reflect the majority
of people, so it’s great to see it diversifying,” Emma explained.

“It’s offering up a whole new category of women, and the industry is beginning to see the effect that these images have on the world. People will feel happier,” she told the Herald.

Emma is an Irish size 10 but has now been listed as a curvier model in her New York based modelling agency.

“My body is my body – it doesn’t matter what label they put on it,” she insisted.
